 25/03/2007 RED BULL X-FIGHTERS 2007

THE FUTURE BEGINS IN MEXICO...

The seventh Red Bull X-Fighters season gets underway in Mexico City on March 23: and promises to deliver the kind of class sporting acts and incomparable atmosphere that we've come to expect from the world's most atmospheric FMX series since 2001.
As well as some sensational novelties that mark the beginning of a new era.

Está todo ocupado: tickets for the Red Bull X-Fighters Mexico City event were sold out by February 28 after being on sale for just three weeks.
A 42,000-strong crowd will turn out to witness the best FMX riders compete against one another in the greatest bullfighting arena in the world; where tricks that until recently even the experts thought impossible will be performed; and where the ceremonial elements of traditional bullfighting and the "anything's possible" attitude of freestyle motocross will meet.

The ten most sought-after seats were allocated very carefully: to the riders in the arena. The 2005 and 2006 Mexico winners Ronnie Renner and Mat Rebeaud each got one, as did Madrid 2005 winner Nate Adams. The list also includes: local Mexican hero Johan Nungaray, Spain's Dany Torres, Brazilian Gilmar Flores, Chile's Gabriel Villegas, Japan's Eigo Sato and Brian Deegan of the USA.

All of them will be taking a bold leap into a new Red Bull X-Fighters era in Mexico City: for the first time there will be four events this year, two of which at completely new venues. After the kick-off event in Mexico, the Red Bull X-Fighters will be hosted by Slane Castle near Dublin on May 26 and by Moscow on June 30, before the year's winner is crowned at the final event in Madrid on July 27.

The rider's performances will fall under the scrutiny of a team of five judges at each event. Head judge and critical observer of the "overall impression" is Canadian FMX legend Andy Bell. "Variety of tricks", "difficulty and technical execution" and "style and show aspect" will be judged by European Motocross Champion Jimmy Verburgh, stunt man Regis Harrington and "Motociclismo Magazine" director José-Luis Matarredona.
The fifth judge is the crowd, who will be given a voice by Mexican TV presenter Facundo.

They will have to judge the best Supermans, Can Cans and Backflips over three rounds. Five pairs of riders will first go head to head in a knock-out heat, and the five winners will go through to the second round. Together with a sixth "lucky rider" chosen by the jury, they will go head to head again in a battle for the three places in the final.
The winner will be crowned in the third and final round: this year again cheered on by 42,000 enthusiastic fans who - depending on their temperament - will be waving white rags, as they do at bullfights, or showing their admiration by letting screaming chainsaw motors rip.

Cette année, il y aura 4 Red Bull X Fighters :
23 mars : Mexico City
26 Mai : Slane Castle, Angleterre
30 Juin: Moscou, Russie
27 Juillet: Madrid, Espagne
